Welcome to my garden!
... This past spring I started germinating seeds in the kitchen and attic so I could start a garden in the backyard. Because this is my first year gardening (and I'm unsure how I want to design my backyard garden), I choose to start a "container garden" for this year's season. I thought this blog would be a fun way to visually document the growth of each plant... and eventually the transformation of my whole back yard! Thanks for stopping by and happy gardening! :)

Garden Update...

Well, yesterday I was supposed to post an update of the garden and, unfortunately, it rained all day... actually it was a downpour. Earlier today, it was a little nicer and we had some sun... but, unfortunately, I was busy and less than five minutes after I got home, it started to rain. Now it's getting dark and still raining, so I took this shot of the garden from the back porch.
Tomorrow, the forecast is 60% chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Hopefully, I will have a chance sometime during the day (when it's not raining) to take some photos of all the plants. I hope you enjoy the two shots I took this morning and hopefully tomorrow I can update all the plants! Until then, happy gardening!
This is the second Tricolor Mix morning glory bloom on the trellis. The first one opened on the morning of July 28th and when I went out around 1:00pm (a couple hours later) to take a photo of it, it was already closing up. I was too late and I didn't want to miss this one.
There are a lot of roses now. I took a shot of this after the morning glory because I love how the petals look with the raindrops on them.
