Welcome to my garden!
... This past spring I started germinating seeds in the kitchen and attic so I could start a garden in the backyard. Because this is my first year gardening (and I'm unsure how I want to design my backyard garden), I choose to start a "container garden" for this year's season. I thought this blog would be a fun way to visually document the growth of each plant... and eventually the transformation of my whole back yard! Thanks for stopping by and happy gardening! :)

Garden Update...

On July 20th, I transplanted 7 baby tomato plants (Beefsteak, Large Red Cherry, and Roma varieties), the lupine plants, the broccoli, the cauliflower, the Scarlet O'Hara morning glory, and the Sweet Pea plants. All of these were put on the back porch to harden off. I added soil to the dill and pea containers and I germinated chamomile, spearmint, and more Scarlet O'Hara morning glory.

On July 21st, I moved the 7 baby tomato plants (Beefsteak, Large Red Cherry, and Roma varieties) into the garden.

On July 22nd, I germinated Disco Flame marigold and added soil to the aloe plant.

On July 23rd, the Husky Cherry Red tomato plant and the tomato plant from my neighbor were weighed down by water from rain, so I tied them to their poles for support. The tall peas toppled over today (due to wind from thunderstorms) and there was some damage to some of the stems, so I detached them from each other and rerouted them so there wouldn't be pressure on the damaged areas.

On July 24th, there is nothing significant to report.
