Welcome to my garden!
... This past spring I started germinating seeds in the kitchen and attic so I could start a garden in the backyard. Because this is my first year gardening (and I'm unsure how I want to design my backyard garden), I choose to start a "container garden" for this year's season. I thought this blog would be a fun way to visually document the growth of each plant... and eventually the transformation of my whole back yard! Thanks for stopping by and happy gardening! :)

Garden Update...

On July 10th, I moved the spinach, lettuce, and chives/garlic to the garden for more sun.

On July 11th, I bought a Trichocereus (Helianthocereus) grandiflorus hybrid cactus for the back porch.

On July 12th, I transplanted the cactus, the oregano (into 4 different pots), and the last of the Tricolor Mix morning glory (under the trellis). I also transplanted and poled the Husky Cherry Red tomato plant and the tomato plant that my neighbor gave me; I also put a pole in the (oldest) Kitchen King garden bean pot.

On July 13th, there is nothing significant to report.

On July 14th, the damaged Burpeeana Early pea plant made a turn for the worse and, because there is nothing I can do for it, it will be composted. Today, I also found quite a few gray leaves on the oldest Kitchen King garden bean plant, so I pulled them all off and I'll be waiting to see how it does in the next few days.
